Church AI Agent: Dashboard
The Dashboard is your analytics command center for the Church AI Agent. It answers the questions church leaders ask most often: How many people are using the assistant? When are they reaching out? Where are they located? What have they been talking about recently? The dashboard is designed for at-a-glance understanding, with deeper detail available in the Conversations section.
Key Takeaways
- Four summary cards show total conversations, today’s count, Knowledge Base articles, and active Skills—each clickable to jump to the related section.
- Activity heatmap displays a full year of daily conversation volume in a GitHub-style grid for pattern spotting.
- Day and hour charts reveal your busiest days of the week and peak engagement hours.
- Location map shows where visitors are geographically distributed with a top-locations panel.
- Recent conversations table lists the latest chats with visitor name, message count, status, and timestamps.
- Date range picker filters all analytics to a custom period (defaults to Year to Date).
Accessing the Dashboard
The Church AI Agent section appears in your control panel left navigation for users with the appropriate administrator permissions. To open the Dashboard:
- Log in to the OnlineGiving.org control panel.
- Locate “Church AI Agent” in the left navigation menu.
- Click “Dashboard” to open the analytics overview (this is the default landing page).
At-a-Glance Metrics
Four summary cards appear at the top of the dashboard. Each card is clickable and takes you to the related section for more detail:
- Conversations: Total number of conversations within the selected date range. Click to open the Conversations list filtered to that range.
- Today: How many conversations started today. Useful for monitoring real-time engagement, especially after a Sunday service, email blast, or campaign announcement.
- KB Articles: Total number of Knowledge Base articles currently available to the AI. Click to open the Knowledge Base management page.
- Active Skills: Number of Skills currently turned on. Click to open the Skills page.
These four numbers give you a quick health check. A growing conversation count with a healthy number of KB articles and active Skills usually means donors are finding the assistant useful. If conversations are high but KB articles are low, donors may be asking questions the AI cannot answer well—a signal to add or import more content.
Conversation Activity Heatmap
Below the summary cards, a Conversation Activity heatmap displays a full year of daily conversation volume in a GitHub-style grid. Each square represents one day. Lighter squares indicate fewer (or zero) conversations; darker blue squares indicate heavier activity. Hover over any day to see the exact date and conversation count.
This heatmap is especially helpful for spotting patterns over time. You might notice spikes after major sermons, year-end giving pushes, or event registrations. You might also see quiet weeks that suggest an opportunity to promote the assistant on social media or in your bulletin. Because the grid covers roughly the past 365 days, you can compare this year’s engagement rhythm with last year’s at a glance.
Conversations by Day and Hour
Two additional charts break down conversation timing in more detail:
- Conversations by Day: A bar chart showing how many conversations occurred on each day within the selected date range. Use this to identify your busiest days of the week—many churches see Sunday and Monday peaks as members follow up after services.
- Conversations by Hour: A heatmap-style chart showing conversation volume by hour of day. This reveals when donors are most likely to reach out—early morning before work, lunchtime, or late evening after children are in bed. Knowing your peak hours helps you decide when to staff follow-up and when to rely on the AI.
Conversation Locations
The Conversation Locations map shows where your visitors are geographically distributed, based on the last 30 days of activity. A visual map displays conversation density, and a Top Locations panel lists the cities or regions with the highest volume. This is particularly useful for multi-campus churches, churches with a strong online congregation, or organizations curious about whether out-of-state supporters are engaging digitally.
Geographic data is approximate and based on visitor network location. It is intended for trend awareness, not precise individual tracking. For individual visitor location detail, see the Geographic Insights panel on the Conversations page.
Recent Conversations
At the bottom of the dashboard, a Recent Conversations table lists the latest conversations with key details: the visitor or logged-in user, message count, status (Active or Expired), start time, and last activity time. Click any row to open the full conversation transcript. This table is your fastest path from “something is happening” to “let me read what was said.”
Date Range Picker
A date range picker at the top of the dashboard lets you filter analytics to a specific period. By default, the dashboard shows Year to Date. Select a custom range to focus on a campaign window, a stewardship season, or a particular month. Click Clear to return to the default Year to Date view. The date range affects the summary cards and charts; the yearly activity heatmap always shows the trailing 365 days regardless of the selected range.
Tips for Using the Dashboard
Check it weekly. The Dashboard and Conversations page together give you a clear picture of how donors are using the assistant. For the first few weeks after launching, review them regularly to catch gaps in your Knowledge Base.
Watch for spikes. A sudden jump in conversations often signals an external trigger—a sermon mention, an email blast, or a social media post. Use those moments to ensure your Knowledge Base has the right content for the topic driving engagement.
Use location data for outreach. If you see significant traffic from a city where you do not have a campus, that might indicate an online congregation worth acknowledging in your communications.
