Note: QuickBooks Desktop is a legacy QB product still available to enterprise QB users. OnlineGiving.org supports both QB Desktop and QB Online. However, the two should not be confused as they are different products with different integration methods.

Getting Started with Setting up QB Online Integration


Our knowledgeable support staff is happy to assist you with setting up QuickBooks integration. To get started, please send an email request to support@onlinegiving.org with the following information:

Required Information to Get Started with QuickBooks:

  • QuickBooks Administrator Username
  • QuickBooks Administrator Password

Alternatively, the church can create a new administrative user for support@onlinegiving.org within QuickBooks. We will use this access to sign into your QuickBooks control panel and configure (link) your OnlineGiving.org account with QuickBooks. We will retain the login credentials in our secure password vault for future remote support if necessary. Once your QuickBooks account is configured with your OnlineGiving.org account, we will update your funds/sub-funds with their associated QuickBooks accounts and confirm the successful integration setup.

How to Update Funds/Sub-Funds with Matching QB Accounts


OnlineGiving.org records bank deposits into QuickBooks with a breakdown of line items for the associated QB accounts. To achieve this, the QB account must be linked with OnlineGiving.org funds. Fortunately, this process is very simple. Below are the steps to associate a QuickBooks account with a fund (or sub-fund) in your OnlineGiving.org control panel.

  1. Log into the control panel.
  2. Click on Funds from the left navigation menu.
  3. Click the gear icon in the fund row you wish to manage.
  4. Select the Edit Fund option from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select the QuickBooks Account from the Accounts Fund drop-down menu.
  6. Click the Save button to commit changes.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for additional funds.

Timing of the Creation of QuickBooks Bank Deposits


The creation of QuickBooks bank deposits is based on OnlineGiving.org Financial Batches. OnlineGiving.org will automatically record a new bank deposit directly after closing a Financial Batch that is older than two days. Typically, churches can expect QuickBooks bank deposits to be recorded within two days after the financial batch closes. This waiting period ensures that the financial batch record is complete.
