Enhanced Check Scan OCR with $1,000,000 Auto-Fill Limit

We’re excited to introduce an important update to OnlineGiving.org’s Google Vision OCR check scanning feature. To enhance accuracy and prevent errors, we’ve implemented a maximum auto-fill amount of $1,000,000 for scanned check amounts.

How It Works:

  • If the OCR detects a check amount greater than $1,000,000, the system will now automatically clear the amount instead of filling it in.
  • This ensures that church administrators manually enter the correct amount for any check over this threshold.

Why This Update?

  1. Prevents OCR Misreads: Occasionally, OCR technology can misinterpret numbers on checks, leading to incorrect high-value entries. This safeguard ensures greater accuracy.
  2. Encourages Manual Review for Large Checks: High-value donations require extra attention. By requiring manual entry, this update helps church administrators verify and confirm the amount before processing.

Text Message Marketing Update: Scheduled Messages Now Marked as Failed if Associated Phone List is Deleted

We’ve made an important enhancement to the OnlineGiving.org Text Message Marketing feature to improve clarity and prevent delivery issues for scheduled messages.

What’s New?

  • If a bulk text message is scheduled to send to a specific phone number list, but that list is deleted before or during the scheduled sending, the system will now automatically detect the issue.
  • When this occurs, the scheduled message will be marked as failed, and a notification will indicate that the phone number list was deleted.

Why This Matters?

  • Prevents Confusion – Previously, scheduled messages may have appeared as unsent without a clear reason. Now, administrators receive an explicit failure status.
  • Ensures Accurate Message Tracking – Church administrators can easily identify why a message wasn’t sent and take corrective action.
  • Improves Workflow Management – Avoids sending to non-existent recipient lists, ensuring a more reliable messaging experience.
