OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform Invoice Payment Details in Email Receipt
We're pleased to announce an update is now live that enhances the OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform invoice payment emails to include full invoice details in the payment email receipt. The MP invoice details, status, amount paid, and balance will be automatically appended to payment receipt emails. For your convenience, we've included an example email below.
OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform Event Registration Timeout Enhanced Handling
We're pleased to announce an update is now live that enhances the OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform event registration feature with better checkout timeout handling. The update aims to provide a more user-friendly experience when dealing with MP Widget event registrations timed out or deleted due to an MP process. Over the last 4-6 weeks, we've seen a shift in MP systems having a 1-hour expiration window enforced by an MP automated process that hunts unpaid MP Widget event registration invoices older than 1 hour and auto deletes them instead of simply canceling the invoice.
Unfortunately, this MP automated process has been causing some user experience and invoice payment hiccups with MP churches. Additionally, since the MP automated process deletes the MP invoice, our fallback payment recording cannot locate the canceled invoices and automatically correct them. While we understand there are justified reasons for MP to set a 1-hour timeout, the deletion of the invoices has caused inconveniences for multiple MP churches with large numbers of event registrations.
The OnlineGiving.org MP event registration timeout enhancement is designed to detect deleted and expired invoices. A friendly expired message will be displayed if a user lands on a payment page and the invoice is deleted or expired (see below). Additionally, if a user lands on the payment page within the 1-hour window but fails to submit their payment until after 45 minutes, our backend payment validation service will now catch the expired invoice and display a friendly message. In both cases, the software update should help to prevent further payments towards invoices MP automated processes delete or expire.
Please note, we're using a 45-minute checkout window to allow 15 minutes for the successful payment completion notification to be delivered to the MP server before the MP 1-hour timeout happens.
