OnlineGiving.org Now Supports a Secondary Donations Merchant Account and Fund Destination for Special Case Secondary Ministry Scenarios with Same Tax ID
We are pleased to announce that OnlineGiving.org now supports adding a secondary donations (tax-deductible) merchant account to an account for scenarios in which a secondary ministry with the same tax id is present that requires a separate bank deposit for financial audit purposes. The feature allows a secondary donation account to be configuration by our support staff to an existing OnlineGiving.org giving website. Once configured, church administrators can then select then associate the secondary donation merchant account directly to one or more funds (or sub-funds). Any donation completed under those funds/sub-funds will be processed under the secondary donation merchant account and will group into a dedicated bank deposit. It's important to note that this feature requires the primary donations merchant account and the secondary donations merchant account to have the same tax identifier for government audit purposes. The update's goal is to allow church's with the same tax id secondary ministries to use a single donation website but still have a clear separation of bank deposits for audit purposes.
MinistryPlatform Donation Batching Enhanced to Support Secondary Donations Merchant Account
We've enhanced the MinistryPlatform donation batching feature to work with our new secondary donation merchant account feature documented above. The MP integration will group donations into batches based on payment type (card vs. bank account), date, and merchant account. This allows MP churches to have easier accounting with separate MP batches to match the separate bank deposits the secondary donations merchant account feature offers.
OnlineGiving.org Mobile Application > MinistryPlatform Event Detail Page Updated with Volunteer for Event Button.
An update is now live to the OnlineGiving.org mobile application for MinistryPlatform church's that adds a "Volunteer for Event" button to the event detail page/display. If a user clicks the "Volunteer for Event" button, they are taken to the opportunities finder with any available opportunities for the event displayed.
