OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform Integration Updated with Enhanced Retry Capabilities for Partial Donation Record Recover due to MP Server Abruptly Terminated Connections
We're pleased to report an update is now live that enhances the OnlineGiving.org MinistryPlatform donation recording integration to enhance the detection of MP Donation records that are created without distribution records due to abruptly terminated MP Server connections. In rare cases, a scenario exists in which an MP Server may intermittently abruptly terminate an OnlineGiving.org MP API communication request while attempting to record an MP donation distribution record directly after an MP donation record is created. Prior to the update OnlineGiving.org already included automatic ChMS donation recording retry features. However, the goal of this update is specifically to target the detection of scenarios in which the MP server terminates in the middle of a donation record set recording which leaves an MP Donation without an MP Distribution. The update allows OnlineGiving.org's retry and recovery features to be extended to detect this scenario and for a secondary background process to be queued for the distribution record to be fully recorded.
While this update should resolve these MP server abrupt connection issues it should not replace the reporting of churches to web host providers of overprotective firewall settings. Typically when the above scenario occurs it's due to overprotective or false-positive blocking of OnlineGiving.org API communication requests by the MP Server's web hosting company's firewall. For those scenarios, our IT team is happy to work with the church's MP web host provider to provide any details they may need to locate the firewall overprotection issues and apply adjustments. However, the enhancement above should reduce church financial administrative time by avoiding the need to create a support ticket for the MP Donations to be fixed as our system should automatically fix those in near real-time now.
New OnlineGiving.org Control Panel Chatbot Builder MinistryPlatform Add Contact Attribute Integration Action
We're pleased to announce the OnlineGiving.org Chatbots have been enhanced to add support for adding MinistryPlatform Contact Attributes with custom notes from a chatbot conversation. The update allows church administrators to conditionally add contact attributes to the matching MP contact after a chatbot conversation is completed.

Church administrators may now configure and associate OnlineGiving.org chatbots conversations with MinistryPlatform Form Responses. The new integration action for the OnlineGiving.org control panel custom chatbot builder allows church administrators to build associations between OnlineGiving.org chatbot conversations and MinistryPlatform Custom Forms and for submissions to feed into MinistryPlatform as a new Form Response. The goal of the feature is to allow chatbot submissions the ability to record into MP as Form Responses.

We're pleased to announce the OnlineGiving.org Custom Form Builder has been enhanced with direct integration with MinistryPlatform custom forms. Church administrators may now configure and associate OnlineGiving.org custom form submissions with MinistryPlatform Form Responses. The new integration action for the OnlineGiving.org control panel custom form builder allows church administrators to build associations between an OnlineGiving.org custom form and MinistryPlatform Custom Forms and for submissions to feed into MinistryPlatform as a new Form Response. The goal of the feature is not to replace MinistryPlatform forms but to extend integration into MP forms so that those churches using OnlineGiving.org for special tasks may also get that data into MP as a Form Response. This means, that using OnlineGiving.org custom forms you may now perform a very wide range of MP actions again a form submission including recording submission answers directly into MP as a Form Response.
