Update: Improved Salesforce Integration for Refund Tracking
OnlineGiving.org has enhanced its Salesforce integration to make refund handling cleaner, more accurate, and easier to report on.
Refunds are now tracked using their own dedicated Opportunity records, rather than being appended to the original donation. This update results in:

Improved reporting: Refunds can now be easily filtered and analyzed separately.

Cleaner records: Original donations remain untouched and fully preserved.

Better reconciliation: Fund allocations and payment data are clearer and more audit-ready.
What Changed?
Before

Refunds were processed by applying a negative payment to the original donation record.

This muddied reporting and mixed donation/refund history.
Now

Refunds generate a new, clearly labeled Opportunity record (e.g.,
REFUND: Boorn Household $10.00 Contribution). -
These records mirror the original donation structure but use negative values for amount and GAU allocations.
