Online Giving Mobile App > MinistryPlatform > MP My Groups Attendance Performance Enhancements
We're pleased to report an update is now live that enhances the Online Giving MinistryPlatform > MP My Groups feature. Specifically, a custom SQL procedure is now available that speeds up the attendance process for groups that contain a large number of members.
The new custom SQL procedure is named "api_OGCC_GetMyGroupMembers" that extends the native "api_MPP_GetMyGroupMembers" SQL procedure with the additional contact, household and address information required by the Online Giving mobile application groups attendance feature. The update enhances the MP groups attendance feature to automatically detect and take advantage of the new SQL procedure once installed. Our testing indicated that for a large group with 100+ members the new SQL procedure reduced the query time by 50%.
Additionally, we optimized the event group participation checking to reduce the total number of API queries required to further enhance the group attendance speed. With the combination of the custom SQL procedure and the event group participation optimization, our testing indicated that for a large group with 100+ members the query time was reduced by an amazing 96.8%.
For example for a group with 160 members, prior to the update, the query speed was around 95 seconds due to the large number of API queries required to gather the required information. With the custom SQL procedure that was reduced to 29 seconds. Finally, with the combination of the SQL procedure and the new event group participation checking optimization it was reduced to 3 seconds. A significant speed enhancement for those MP churches with large groups.
Any MinistryPlatform church that is an Online Giving mobile application customer is welcomed to take advantage of the new SQL procedure. To get started, please reach out to support@onlinegiving.org and request a copy of the api_MPP_GetMyGroupMembers SQL procedure for installation into your MP database. Our support staff shall be happy to promptly send over the api_MPP_GetMyGroupMembers SQL file for your MP DBA to install into your MP database. Once installed, our MP integration will automatically detect the SQL procedure and immediately start using it.
