Online Giving Mobile App > MinistryPlatformCustom SQL Procedure for Faster Check-Ins
An update is now available for all MinistryPlatform churches using the Online Giving mobile application for check-in. We have developed a custom SQL procedure that can be installed to the church's MP Server to speed up check-in times for those churches who have check-in events associated with a large number of groups or event rooms. The custom SQL procedure speeds up the check-in process by gathering all of the required information in a single query vs multiple queries using the standard API check-in integration. We are pleased to offer this enhancement free of charge as a courtesy to any MP churches using the Online Giving mobile application. The custom SQL procedure can reduce check-in loading times by 90% or more for large events. Online Giving Mobile App & Website Widgets > MinistryPlatform Event Registration Link Update
An update is now live to the Online Giving powered MinistryPlatform Event Registration feature for those churches who direct link to the registration form. The update removes the requirement for the MP Form ID to be provided as a URL parameter for event registration. Links may still provide the MP Form ID with the MP Event ID (as before). Moving forward it's now optional to include the MP Form ID in the Event Registration link as we have updated our integration to fetch this information directly from the MP Event record. Why is this useful? With MinistryPlatform's new WordPress Event Widget, you may set the WordPress "target" attribute to the event registration destination URL for displaying MP Open Registration Events (using the MP WordPress widget) that you desire to use the Online Giving powered Event Registration instead of the stock MP Event Registration.
Additionally, it's important to note our knowledgable support staff is here to help any MinistryPlatform church who is implementing the MP Widgets for Event and/or Event Registration purposes. Currently, Online Giving's MP Event Registration features are available to any MP church using our mobile application. The advantage of the Online Giving MP Event Registration is better-looking forms and access to saved payment methods for paid event registrations, etc. Additionally, all registrations routing through our system are monitored and managed by our support staff.
Online Giving Mobile App > MinistryPlatform QR Code Changes
An update is now live on the Online Giving MinistryPlatform integrated mobile application that updates the QR Code format for any new QR Codes to use the space-delimited format as specified by MinistryPlatform as part of their 10/5/2020 check-in update. MP's goal of using space vs pipes in the QR Code is an effort to assist QR Codes in better reading and decoding of QR Codes. It appears QR Codes with spaces vs pipes are faster to read and produce less decoding errors. No action is required by mobile application users or the church as these updates are globally applied and automatic.
