Feature Updates 10/13/2022
Enhancements to Embedded Custom Forms with Multiple Sections
We're pleased to announce an update is now live that enhances the OnlineGiving.org Embedded Custom-Forms that contain multiple sections. Specifically, the embedded custom form can now communicate with the parent embed page to have the parent (embedding) page scroll to the top when the next/back section buttons are clicked. Why is this update necessary? Over the last few years, most web browsers are disabling valuable features due to abuse by spamsters or similar. An example of such a feature is the ability for an embedded page to auto-focus upon load, which is now disabled by browsers for cross-domain embedded pages.
This means that before this update, the latest web browser updates were not auto-focusing on the next or previous section when the next/back buttons were clicked. Fortunately, this enhancement adds the feature back with a smart update to allow the embedded custom form to notify the parent to embed the app to scroll to the top of the embedded element. Moving forward, when a user clicks the next/back buttons for an embedded custom form, the parent application will automatically scroll the page to the top of the form, which allows the most ideal user experience.
