Feature Updates 11/03/2020
Automatic Text Giving Sign-Up for Donors who Sign-in with Mobile Phone
We are pleased to announce a new feature to automatically register donors for text giving when they use a verified mobile phone to complete a donation. Specifically, when a donor uses a mobile phone with a verification code to access our platform, the phone is now marked as verified internally with the donor's OnlineGiving.org profile.
The next time the donor completes a gift, the platform will automatically register the verified phone number as a text giving source with the donation payment method. Finally, the donor sent a friendly welcome text message, letting them know their devices can now give via text message.
This update aims to allow text-based features to be automatically enabled when a donor naturally elects to use a mobile phone to access the OnlineGiving.org platform. This both enables text giving and chatbot phone number matching for enhanced ease of use for the donor.
Automatic Sign-in for First Time Text Givers
We're pleased to report an update is now live that enhances the first-time text giver experience for those donors who have already given on the system.
One of the many different ways to sign-up for text giving is texting the gift amount directly to the church phone number. First-time text-givers are supplied with a link to complete their gift, associating the mobile phone number with a donor account and payment method. Any text message gifts received after that point get processed right away without any links or additional user interaction.
OnlineGiving.org will now check for an existing donor profile containing the matching phone number. If a match is found, the software will send a different link that grants immediate access to complete the text giving registration donation with their saved payment methods!
