OnlineGiving.org Vision AI Check Scanning: Enhanced Handwritten Dollar Amount Detection
We’re excited to announce significant enhancements to the OnlineGiving.org Vision AI check scanning algorithm, driven by valuable user feedback. This update improves the system’s accuracy in detecting handwritten dollar amounts, bolstering reliability and safety in check processing.
Key Enhancements Include:
- Improved Recognition Capabilities: Enhanced detection of complex patterns, including dashes, fractions, partial fractions, excessive commas, and multiple decimals.
- Advanced Safety Checks: The algorithm now cross-references the parsed numeric amount with the long-form handwritten amount for checks over $10,000. If a high-value check has a low match score, the suggested amount will be left blank, prompting manual entry by church administrators. This minimizes potential errors in processing large checks.
- Low-Value Check Precision: For checks detected with low dollar amounts and low confidence scores, the system similarly returns a blank value, allowing administrators to input the amount manually and prevent discrepancies.
- Cloud-Based, Continuous Improvement: As part of our commitment to seamless user experiences, these updates are deployed in the cloud. No manual updates are required from church administrators, ensuring that enhancements and monitoring are always current.
This update addresses prior concerns related to incorrect large-amount suggestions and anomalies caused by dashes or slashes, refining our check processing to be safer and more reliable. With these improvements, OnlineGiving.org continues to provide a robust, cloud-based platform where user feedback helps drive meaningful innovations. Together, we enhance accuracy and trust across our church network.
Thank you for your input and continued support in making our tools more effective and secure!
