Feature Updates for December 2017 - Week 48 of 52
New Looks & Feel - New Giving User Interface
We are very pleased to announce that our new giving user interface (UI) is now live on all account. Online Giving is always working on continue improvement to our giving platform and experience. As part of our continue improvement we've released our new user interface. The new UI was build from feedback and long term research of current giving trends.
We've redesigned the new look and feel to be high contrast and fully customized to your church's color scheme and logos. A great deal of time was taken to research a new design layout for mobile, web, tablet and desktop layouts. The new UI components are the result of donor trend research and the input of over 11 different professional UI designers working with our lead designer. The end result is an amazingly intuitive and beautiful giving user interface arriving in time for 2017 Christmas giving!
Gift Description - Disabled By Default on Primary Donation and Custom Giving Pages
An update is now live that disables the optional gift description input option on the primary donation form and custom giving pages by default. One of our most common themes in support tickets is churches requesting to disable gift descriptions. Donation gift descriptions can be useful, but for most churches they simply leave another input for the donor to think about populating. The majority of churches choose to disable this feature as it's not necessary and leads to additional human man hours in reviewing donation gift descriptions.
For this reason we've updated our platform to keep gift description disabled by default. Prior the update churches would have to request to disable this feature. We've changed that to be reverse. Should your church need the optional gift description field on your primary donation page and custom giving pages please drop us a line at support@onlinegiving.org.
Upgrades to Our Fraud Protection
An update is now live for the holiday season that upgrades OnlineGiving.org's fraud protection features. In addition to our existing fraud prevention features we now calculate a risk level to each transaction. The risk level is based on various factors. We now use this new information to monitor the risk levels on the system on a per donor level in real time. In the event a spike in high risk transactions is detected from a donor, Online Giving will now automaticly place a temporary block on future transactions for a period of time (for that high risk donor).
In addition to the risk level detection, new fraud protection features are in place to detect abnormal donation spikes on a per user level for all donors (no matter the risk level). In the event activity is detected from a donor that is abnormal the software will intelligently place a temporary block on future transactions for a period of time (for the donors account).
It's worth noting that the goal of our new fraud protection features is to stop spam robots and spammers from abusing your giving website to process fraudulent card information. Our new automatic blocking features are only triggered by abnormal activity. Your real donors will not notice any change in their donation experance or any blockage. This update is designed specifically to target fake donors and further protect your account.
Online Giving is the first giving platform to offer real time intelligent fraud protection and monitoring. Should you have any questions or want to learn more about our fraud protection features please drop us a line at support@onlinegiving.org
Text Marketing - Auto Responders - MP Event Participant Registered vs Interested
An update is now live that allows church administrators to select how MP event participation is recorded for text marketing auto responder campaigns. Church administrators may now select "Interested" or "Registered" when creating/editing text marketing auto responders for MP event recording. Prior to the update the software would always record the event participant as "Registered". The goal of the update is to allow additional options for recording event participation in response to text marketing campaigns.
Text Marketing - Auto Responders - MP Group Recording Now Supported
An update is now live that allows church administrators to record MP group participants for text marketing auto responder campaigns. Church administrators may now select a MP group and group role when creating/editing text marketing auto responders. In the event a MP group/group-role is selected for an auto responder campaign, the software will automaticly record matched MP participants as a group participant under the specififed group role. The goal of this update is to allow text marketing campaigns that allow for auto group participation recording which should be very useful to MP churches.
Button Added to Resend Donation Approved/Declined Email Notification
An update is now live that adds a button to the view donation/payment window for resending the transaction approved/declined email notification. Church administrators may now click the "Resend Email" button to resend the transaction approved or declined email notification. This may be useful for church staff members who need to quickly resend a gift notification to a donor.
Event Trigger - Send Email/SMS for Matching Fund/Sub-Fund
An update is now live that adds the ability to trigger a email/sms for a completed transaction with a matching fund/sub-fund. Church administrators may now create a Event Trigger in the control panel based on matching fund/sub-fund. The goal of this update is to extend the functionality of our popular Event Trigger feature to include the ability to send out custom emails/sms based on a specific fund or sub-fund. An example of such use might be for a special Christmas funds, that the church would like to send more information via email or sms when a gift is completed for that fund.
Rock RMS - Auto Batching
An update is now live that extends our advanced direct donation recording for Rock RMS. Online Giving will now automatically create daily batches for transactions moving forward. Batches are created based on the date of the transactions. All transactions under the same day will be recorded under the same Rock RMS transaction batch.
