Text Marketing: Custom MP Response for Group Auto Registration

An update is now live that adds a new option for entering a custom response message for MP Group auto registration under text marketing > autoresponders. A church administrator may now set up a custom response message for auto MP group registration for a text marketing autoresponder. Prior to the update, a church administrator could supply a custom response message for MP Event auto registration. With the updates, the autoresponder feature has been upgraded to allow a custom message to be added for MP Group auto registration that is not part of an MP Event. The custom response will be sent back to the mobile device in the event an MP group registration is performed and no MP event registration is required. Kindly note that both the MP Event registration and MP Group registration are optional features that can be enabled independently on a per auto-responder basis.

IconCMO Direct Integration Released

We are pleased to announce new IconCMO direct API integration. IconCMO customers now have automatic contribution and batch recording for their Online Giving donation.

Swiped Payments Kiosk Released

We are pleased to announce our new payments kiosk functionality. Churches may now configure their kiosk into a payments mode for accepting payments vs donations. When the kiosk payments mode is enabled only payment elected funds will be displayed in the kiosk. Additionally, all of the wording (labels) are geared entirely towards payments (not donations). Payment amounts are populated from the default fund amount values located in the control panel. A church administrator can now use the default amount setting to set up a default payment amount for a fund (or sub-fund) in the kiosk. When a user selects a payment fund with a default amount, the kiosk will now automatically populate the payment amount based on the default fund (or sub-fund) amount. The goal of the new payment kiosk functionality to assist churches in accepting payments for simple transactions such as coffee, books, t-shirts, etc.

Edit/Update Saved Payment Method

An update is now live that upgrades the giving platform with the ability to edit saved payment methods from the giving profile page. A donor may now use the edit saved payment method feature to update or replace a saved credit/debit card or e-check payment method. In the event an change is submitted by the donor, the system will update all of the associated recurring gifts, text giving devices and chatbot applications with the new payment information. Donors can use this feature to easily update recurring gifts with expiring cards without having to edit each recurring gift independently. Additionally, once the payment method is updated the software will now remove the old payment method from the system.

Text Giving Extended Donor Duplicate Checking:

An update is now live that extends our duplicate check for text giving to scan for text gifts from the donor within 30 mins to the same fund/sub-fund and gift amount. The goal of the extended duplicate checking is to prevent donors from sending duplicate gifts in different message formats to the same fund/sub-fund destination in for the same amount within a 30 min period. The newly extended donor duplicate checking will protect the donor/church in the event of Twilio.com outbound delays due to carrier message throttling.

Text Giving Carrier Duplicate Checking:

Carrier duplicate checking is an existing feature. We're making note of it here for clarification purposes. A rare scenario can exist where a cell phone carrier will deliver duplicate messages to Twilio. Since the duplicates are at the carrier level, Twilio provides a unique message id for each inbound message to Online Giving for processing. Online Giving is able to detect carrier duplicates by checking for exact message duplicates within a 30-second window protecting the donor/church against these rare duplicate requests.

Text Giving Extended Invalid Gift Amount Checking:

An update is now live that extends our invalid text giving amount check to include rejecting any amount over $500,000. The gift amount limit effectively rejects erroneous text gift request with phone numbers or other similar large numbers. Additionally, we've updated our gift amount checking to scan for the "text giving confirmation code" as gift amount. Online Giving will now reject donors who erroneously put in old confirmation codes into text messages as gift amounts.

Text Giving Refund Option for NMI (Process4Change) Gateway, PaymentSpring Gateway, and Pay-As-You-Go Gateway (Stripe Managed):

An update is now live that postfixes the gift confirmation message to include a short phrase: To cancel your donation reply with the keyword "refund". Donors may now optionally cancel erroneously created donations within a 3-hour window after completing the donation via text message (same day). For transactions completed with the NMI gateway, the refund option is processed as "void" request. For PaymentSpring and Pay-As-You-Go gateway, the refund request is processed for a standard refund. The goal of the update is to provide the donor with a method of canceling a donation erroneously made via text giving. As noted above the refund window is limited to text gifts and a 3 hour (same-day) window. To account for the refund window, the software will now delay recording ChMS text giving transactions until 4 hours after the text gift is completed. Any church who has the NMI, PaymentSpring or Pay-As-You-Go gateway now has the refund text giving featured enabled. Church's may optionally contact us via support email to disable the refund option for any reason.

Export Text Marketing Phone Number Lists

An update is now live that adds an export option to the control panel > text marketing > phone number lists feature. Church administrators may now export text marketing phone number lists from the control panel as a CSV spreadsheet.
